Alisha Jared (@alishajaredhairartistry) from Siren Salon in Vancouver, WA, had fun with a challenge. "This client came to me as a birthday present from her mom. Her inspiration picture was fire engine red, but she had fairly recently box colored her hair black! I was prepared to deal with uneven lift and banding, however, in being cautious, I was able to get her to lift exceptionally well. Wherever I applied my lightener, I was able to achieve EXACTLY what I was looking for." In addition to great results, Jared has gained (and EARNED) a client for life. This transformation took place all in one day, in 2 sessions. Total time: 4.5 hours.
1st Process:
Step 1: Section hair into 4 standard sections. Starting at nape, take 1/2" sections, apply Formula A: Wella Blondor + 20 Vol Veroxide (1:1 ratio) from top of black banded color through the ends. Continue working toward the front.
Mix new batch of Formula A.
Step 2: Immediately return to nape section and bring lightener up to 1/4" from scalp. Work in same order you did during first application.
Mix new batch of Formula A.
Step 3: Immediately upon second application of lightener return to nape and apply lightener on scalp and re-saturate any hair that hasn't lifted adequately.
Step 4: Process at room temperature until you reach your desired level of lightness (in this case a level 7/8 orange.) Rinse in cool water. Shampoo and condition using Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo and Conditioner.
Step 5: Apply Pureology Colour Fanatic to even out porosity and dry completely.
2nd Process:
Step 6: Section into 4 standard sections. Apply Formula B: Joico Vero 53 g 7XR + 53 g 5XR+ 27 g INRR + 10 Vol Veroxide (1:1 ratio) from roots to ends. Process at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Step 7: Rinse with cool water. Apply Joico Kpak Intense Hydrator and process for 5 minutes. Rinse. Apply Joico Kpak Cuticle Sealer and process for 5 minutes. Rinse. Style with Pureology Colour Fanatic as a leave-in/protectant. Blow dry and finish with a 1" wand and Davines This is a Sea Salt Spray for texture.
